As a result of the successful development and ongoing implementation of the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission’s (HCPHC) Aviation & Aerospace Strategy, nearly $200 million in capital investment and 230 new careers directly related to private space development have been announced in the region.
Hancock County boasts a host of space exploration assets including testing capabilities at Stennis Space Center and soon-to-be Stennis Spaceport. Private companies are beginning to take advantage of those amenities with recent announcements including Relativity Space with 200 new jobs and more than $65 million in capital investment and Lockheed Martin Space Systems with 30 new jobs and $30 million in capital investment.
Hancock County is a hidden gem along the MS gulf coast, and whether you are just stopping by or staying to explore, Stennis International Airport will treat you like a million. We are proud to host Million Air as our Fixed Based Operator which offers fueling services, Jet Away Café, luxurious lounge space, a theatre room, complementary snacks, and much more.
Looking to stay for a while? We have t-hangar space and tie-down space available. Please call Million Air at (228) 463-2389 for short-term, tie-down space or Chanse Watson, Airport Director, at (228) 467-7070 for long-term tie-down space and t-hangar space.
Stennis International Airport is located on the eastern rim of Stennis Space Center’s 125,000 acre and is only 12 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. Our strategic location provides the optimal condition for various aircraft testing and training that would otherwise be unfavorable to encumbered airports. In addition, Stennis International Airport is rapidly expanding with the 12,000SF Corporate Hangar, the 26,000SF Restore Hangar, and a 100,000SF hangar with thousands of square feet more to grow. Currently, we are working to establish a flight simulated training center at Stennis International Airport which will allow military personnel to train with simulation catered to their aircraft.
